Franchise Contracts Questions and Answers

Open Question: Are the Rockets purposley destroying their season?

I mean, they gave a minimum 1 year contract to Ron Artest and he declined, now I understand why he left. Then they signed Trevor Ariza to a long term deal, which I actually like, but we are forgetting just one, small, minor detail. VON WAFER IS SITTING BACK WAITING FOR HIS OFFER. His agent said while the Rocket's disrespected Artest and made a pathetic contract proposal, then tried their hardest to sign Gortat, then finally agreeing to sign Trevor Ariza, Wafer still has not recieved any attention from the Rockets management. He gave them heart, athleticism, great backup shooting guard which the Rockets desperatly need now. And he is great for the Rocket's plan to rebuild. Von said he is dissapointed and surprised, and it really let his spirits down. He thought he found a home in Houston. And his agent said there is no way he is going to sign with Houston unless he gets a higher contract and not a min. What the HELL is Morey thinking not even giving ATTENTION to Wafer? I thought Morey was brilliant, he better show me some more of that. I am not impressed with this franchise and I am not surprised if Artest and Wafer don't want to play for this CHEAP ASS ORGINIZATION more

Open Question: What do you think of this 4 team trade?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lqczje CHICAGO ALSO SENDS TAJ GIBSON TO PORTLAND!!!! This seems like a pretty good trade for all 4 teams if you ask me (obvioiusly or else I wouldn't have posted it haha.) Chicago: While losing Tyrus Thomas and Kirk Hinrich (plus the $6 million expiring deal of Tim Thomas) hurts, Steve Blake is a competant backup for Rose, and most importantly Chris Bosh is the big man the Bulls have been looking for for some time. A Rose-Bosh tandem would be one of the best guard-forward combinations in the league and with excellent complimentary players like Deng and Noah, the Bulls could find themselves contenders in the east. Portland: Most importantly, they get their man. They have coveted Hinrich to put next to Roy for years now, and this trade would finally make it happen. yes, they lose Bayless and Outlaw (Blake isn't much of a loss as Hinrich is an obvious upgrade), but for a still fairly young point guard who is a perfect complement to their star Brandon Roy (shoots 3's at 41% and plays great defense), I think it's worth it. The rookie Taj Gibson also adds frontcourt depth and shotblocking for the Blazers. Toronto: They believe Bosh will leave in 2010 and want something in return and Stoudamire has always been very high on their GM's wish list. Throw in the young Travis Outlaw, and this seems like a no-brainer for the Raptors. Suns: Perhaps the biggest question mark of the trade. However, considering that they're getting a combination of youthful talent and expriring deals, I would think this is a good offer for Stoudamire. Tyrus Thomas is already a defensive beast (1 of 7 NBA players last year with at least 100 blocks and 100 steals ranks him with the likes of D Wade and LBJ), and has shown extreme potential to be an all-star power forward sooner rather than later. Since he's only 22, the Suns could have a great player for the next 10 years. Jerryd Bayless is also extremely young and has very high potential. Learning from Steve Nash, he could eventually become their starter and leave a lasting mark on the franchise. Also, since they are in cost-cutting mode, the nearly $10 million expiring contracts of Tim Thomas and Kris Humphries should also be a welcomed addition to the trade. I like it all the way around, what do you guys think? more

Resolved Question: Gym wont honor contract what should I do?

My gym will not honor its cancellation policy and continues to charge me. The franchise and the billing company both state it is not their issue. Who do I take this to? I've already file a complaint with the BBB. Is this something I can take to the county attorney? more

Voting Question: Why Gears of War not Halo?

The Halo film is sort of in the (Unknown) area right now, most people say "Oh its canceled" but i read somewhere it is up and running again but then again Halo projects are always very secretive. So i am staying hopeful about it But my real question is How in gods name has the Gears Of War film got a contract/funding etc,etc because halo is a much bigger franchise it has allot more fans, plus i think it would apeal to a wider market than a 18 horror. The only thing i can think of is that EPIC were luck getting the contract or thats just what Hollywood wants at the moment i dont know. what do you guys think? (DO Not get me wrong i love gears of war as well but no wear near as much as halo as you probably guessed) Thanks more

Resolved Question: How do you see the nfc east in 2009?

I ask the NFC East because it's an unpredictable division and people don't say dumb things like "Steelers vs Pats AFC Championship" because the NFC as a whole is a lot more tough and less predictable and you can't really say whom is going to the NFC Championship. I see 3 teams going to the playoffs, Either the Giants/Eagles win the division, Cowboys 2nd, Redskins 3rd. One of the teams, Giants or Eagles, have some stroke of bad luck that sets the team back. Probably most likely the Eagles, since they are the most hyped team. I see the injury prone Donovan McNabb (As you get older, you become less mobile) set back like Romo in '08 or Jim Johnson not being healthy, etc etc. The Cowboys will make a wild card. One and done probably. Redskins as 6th seed. With Jason Campbell in his contract year, and everyone counting out the Skins, they will be the biggest underdog of the 09 playoffs and will embark on a dream playoff season that will lead to a super bowl berth. Jason and the offense will excel, the defense will look better than it was during the season(granted the fact that Hanyesworth doesn't make an impact), and everyone will consider the Redskins as the next cinderella season. Campbell achieves high respect and gets the franchise tag after all the beating he took over the years of trade rumors and criticism. [Same instance could happen with the Cowboys] Anyway, I'm purposely being creative here with my predictions. How do you, creatively, think the nfc east will look like in 09? more

Resolved Question: Brent Sutter signing with Calgary?!?

There are reports that Sutter will sign as head coach for the flames, even though he said he was leaving the Devils for "family reasons". Is that a stab in the back to the franchise and should the Devils recieve compensation for Sutter not finishing out his 3 year contract? more

Resolved Question: Rank the top 10 players from the 2003 NHL draft from 1 to 10?

Most of you know or atleast should know that the 2003 draft produced a staggering amount of Franchise players and Superstars in the NHL, Stanley cup Champs, high goal scoring wingers, some of the best defensman in the NHL today. Her is how I would rank them in terms of Overall impact, importance to the team, Stanley Cup Championships and o a degree on how much of an impact they had in winning their championship. 1. Ryan Getzlaf, lead Ana. in playoff scoring during there cup, and had a ridiculous ppg avg. this playoffs aswell, was a one-man wrecking crew, and he is only 23 years of age, Arguably the 4th best player in the league. I look for him to only further his reg. season stats next season playing with Perry and Ryan as his wingers. 2. Eric Staal, only 24 yrs old but already has a Stanley Cup in which he lead Car. in playoff scoring, he just elevates his play when it comes to the playoffs, I dont know why, but he just does, he has 2 40 goal seasons under his belt, 1 100 point season, 4 straight 30+ goal seasons and is only going to get better. 3. Shea Weber, this one was really tough for me to pick as it could have gone to anyone of Mike Richards or Zach Parise, however I just find Weber's absolute upside to good to pass up and IMO, an allstar d-man is beter than an allstar F., he finished 2nd in the league in goals amongst blueliners with 23 behind Mike Green, and 50 pts, but unlike Green he actually plays a very good defensive game and is probibly the most punishing Defenseman in the league, only 23 but is already in the Norris trophy Calibre, Defensman usually reach there prime when they are about 30, thats scary to think he's not even close to his Prime for this 6'3 210 blueliner. 4. Zach Parise, This selection was really hard, as Mike Richards, a future Selke award winner with 90 points potential and a rough psical game who hits fights and plays arguably the best pure 2-way game in the league. But lets not diminish Parise here, he was the highest scoring American this year, even though he's part Canadian, he's made it clear he want to join the U.S national squad. Parise is arguably the hardest working player in the NHL, he scored 45 goals and 48 assists this season, and has a very good defensive game, and an underrated playmaking touch aswell, already had 2 30 goal seasons before this year, and is only going up, but we shall see if this season is an anomally or if he continues to be a consistent 40 goal, 50 assist player, his shooting % says otherwise. 4. Mike Richards. This Definately had to go to Richards, as he is one of the best forcheckers in the NHL, already has a Selke Nomination and is only 23, this year he put up 30 goals and 50 assists, he's the ultimate captain anyone would overpay to have, fights, plays almost basically as a 3rd defensman, Putting up 80pts while shutting down other teams top players, I see plenty of 80, 90 pt Selke season from this guy and regarded as one of the best Captains in the NHL when Sakic and Lidstrom retire. 6. Marc Andre Fleury. Any argument that you can't win a Championship with Fleury was soundly pu to rest over the last few years with his amazing post-season performances, which include a 60 save performace in last years game 5 against Detroit in Overtime. And shutting down the Redwings offense with allowing just 2 goals in the last 2 games after getting blown out 5-0 the previous games, his contract is amazing aswell, signed to a 7 year deal at a low cap hit, he's only 24 and is going to get better, very scary, most athletic goalender in the NHL, and a few more Post-season like this and he can definately warrant his 1st overall selection. 7. Jeff Carter. Carter has perhaps the most lethal wrist shot in the NHL, he almost never ever takes slapshots, and is one of the most sound 2-way players on Philly, this year he had a breakout season with 84 pts and the 2nd leading goal scorer in the NHL. I was gonna put Vanek here but he just is to one-dimentional for my liking, he has no passing game to speak of, 40 goals yet only a few assists is not what I like seeing in a winger, gets knocked of of his game easy with a little hitting, but still has an amazing shot though. 8. Thomas Vanek. While one can argue that Vanek has 2 40 goal seasons over Carter, Vanek just doesnt have many other attributes to him besides his top 5 shot in the NHL, he's on of the worst cherry pickers in the league along with AO, and is not committed to playing team defense, but he's only 24, he can still improve his defense and passing, there's nothing wrong with a 50 goal, 30 assist winger. 9. Brent Seabrook. Some may Critisize this selection, however Seabrook is one of the top 5 shutdown defensman in the league is part of the most underrated defense duo in Duncan keith and Seabrook, the Redwings the selves have claimed that they are the most punishing defense duo in the NHL, if that is not a testament to how good he is than I'm not sure what else to say, they werSeabrook is a 6'3 220 behemoth, and had the most even strength points as a defensman in the NHL, yet is given no Powerplay time, because turnover machine Campbell takes his place, Campbell is arguably not even the 4th best d-man on the Hawks let alone the best, most Hawk fans will tell you they would rather have Keith, Seabrook, and Barker well before this swiss cheese, with Powerplay time and aswell as the Hawks run and gun style, I expect Seabrook to put up 50 point seasons along with playing a top 5 defensive game in the NHL. 10. Dion Phaneuf, was njured tis year, broken rib cage but still managed 47 pts, is only 24, and a norris nominee already, injuries limited his hitting and defense this year, he's not even close to his prime yet, he along with Wber will be competing for the title of best defensman for years to come in the NHL, almost mirror images of each-other, both 6'3 and hit like mac trucks, and have amazing shots, but Weber plays a better Defensive game. more

Resolved Question: If the Bears do go after a big-name WR, who should they pursue?

Brandon Marshall recently asked for a trade, so that is a possibility. Especially since he already had established a strong rapport with Jay Cutler. If the Bears could somehow put together another nice trade package with the draft picks and players they had left, they could come away with another pro bowler before the start of the season. On the other hand, Plaxico Burress is still a free agent and there has been some talk of interest from the Bears to sign him to a contract as well. This seems like more of a possibility, since Burress is not limited by any type of contractual obligations and the only thing necessary to sign him to a deal is cold hard cash and a willingness to accept some risks as a result of character flaws. If you ask me, I think the Bears are a pro bowl receiver away from an NFC title, and possibly a Super Bowl title as well. This, along with the fact that they recently acquired a franchise quarterback, should entice any talented receiver not currently signed to a contract to strike up a deal in the windy city. So in short, Marshall, Burress, or other? And if other, who could you see signing? more

Resolved Question: Why the animosity for Hossa?

Pittsburgh why do you boo Hossa? Wasn't he only with the franchise for half a season? I do not live in Pittsburgh so I don't know if he talked bad about the pens after he left like Hasek did to Buffalo. I am just curious, am I missing something? When players take a run at some one I can understand the boo's. I boo Pronger every time he touches the puck, I never liked Bertuzzi and I am liking Avery less and less every time he makes headlines. If the worst thing Hossa did was take a contract where he felt he had a better shot at winning, I just don't understand. Isn't the goal of every hockey player to lift that cup over their heads? Who can blame him for that? It isn't like he played for the pens for his whole career. I don't think if I had the talent he has I would want to stay under Crosby's shadow no matter what I did. Thoughts, comments, please enlighten me.I know The Wings beat them last year. I am a Wings fan myself, born and raised red. I never booed Fedorov when he left Detroit for the ducks. I could be mistaken, it has been a while but didn't they sweep us out a the series the previous yeah... I still hate Giguere for that.Zrider-If he wanted to get paid why not take the 9 mil he was reportedly offered from one of the teams in America's hat? more

Resolved Question: Harlem Globetrotters of hockey?

Hear me out... **Home games don't seem to matter so much, but they are a slight advantage. **Many NHL players have no connection personally to the city they play in (that is developed over the years they stay in that city). **Players travel thousands of miles per year, often just back and forth between the same cities. **Some franchises are suffering more than others financially. So I wonder- similar to the circus, could NHL teams just travel around the nations(s)--yes, maybe worldwide-- without calling anywhere "home"? Franchises would need no commitment to arena contracts; they could save travel expense money? (not sure on this, but seems they would spend less on airline costs, and maybe hotels could enter as part of a business plan agreement?)... just thinking out loud...have any comments? ideas I forgot, missed about the business and cultural impact?URBAN- yeah, was thinking about that...I guess I was more thinking about the financial/business stuff---trying to imagine Boston Bruins v. Montreal playing a game in say Minnesota is odd, but true hockey fans would eat it up! hmmmmmmDETROIT- I wasn't implying that fans would have to fly around...the teams would. And the allegiance you have to one team could still exist---they'd just have more away games. more

Resolved Question: Why do people keep saying that LeBron will go to New York?

I just don't understand why the media is causing hype about LeBron signing with the Knicks in 2010. Just look at the Knicks. They are still a mess. Hell, even in 2010, they will still be a mess. They will only have 4 players under contract - Eddy Curry, Jared Jefferies, Danilo Gallinari, and Wilson Chandler. Chandler isn't so bad but the rest of the players aren't too bright. The Knicks would still be rebuilding in 2010. Why would LeBron want to go to a rebuilding franchise like the Knicks? LeBron is a smart guy. He will want to go somewhere he can win and build his legacy. Maybe he will stay with Cleveland. Maybe he will go to a winning franchise. I know NY is a big market city. LeBron will get more exposure and money there but still I don't understand why some people really thinks he will sign with a rebuilding franchise like the Knicks.Kevo D: The NBA should be making a lot of profit from LeBron leading the Cavs to the ECF. If LeBron goes to NY, he probably won't go to the playoffs for the first two years. When they make the playoffs, they probably would get bounced in the 2nd round. I don't think the league would be making a lot of profit from that. The more success LeBron has on the court, NBA will get more profit.Excellent answer, KONJ more

Resolved Question: NHL 10 wishlist??? What do you want?

NHL 10 wishlist??? What do you want? what do you want to see in this years version... what changes need to happen in 2010 Wingers not taking faceoffs 4 on 4 when a Center is on the ice. -Allow the ability to create rookies PRIOR to the draft, having them go into the draft pool and any team being able to select them. It would add an NCAA 09 style depth to the game and I'd really enjoy being able to create current junior players as rookies, as it is I'm not a fan of the draft or rookies as they are in NHL. -Allow players to change position like in Madden/NCAA. Guys often switch positions, from C to wing when a team has depth at a position, switches wings, even D to forward as is the case with guys like Strudwick and Byfuglien in Chicago. Obviously they can play there anyway, but it would be nice. -Work on CPU trade/free agent signing AI. I've seen teams trade their best prospect for two scrubs, then immediately waive both scrubs on the same day. Making players signed to reasonable long term deals more valuable than a soon to be UFA of the same skill level would also be good, trading a player in a contract year at the deadline should get less in return than a guy in year 1 of a 5 year deal. Basically, work on rent a player logic, as well as the value of blue chip prospects. Some blue chippers will never get traded, I shouldn't be able to trade my third line 80 overall winger for Kyle Turris or Steve Stamkos. This is a lot to work on and might be asking too much, but it would be nice. -Bring back the trade block. -Work on fighting, again, I like it much better than previous seasons, but its just too fast, one or two punches and its over. Not a priority, would just be nice. -Expansion teams/relocation. Again, work on the franchise end of things. Madden may suck this year but the cream for me has always been in the vast amount of options, especially in the offseason. If I want to move Florida to Winnipeg or Phoenix to Vegas let me. Like how you need to play out a lame duck season in Madden before moving, how you need to arrange stadium costs and some cities are more suitable than others, I love that aspect. -Be a Pro is fun, but I got bored 30 games in and switched to good old dynasty. It needs more flair, more depth, and needs to be much harder. I want to start as a 68 overall prospect if I want, and take several seasons just to crack the top line in the AHL or make the big club. Maybe difficulty settings similiar to normal games, Rookie, Pro, Allstar, Superstar would work. -Remove "Catchup" AI or "Comeback logic". We all know its there, at first I thought I was being paranoid, but its there and its ridiculous. I like teams pinching more at the point and getting off more shots, trying to make the fancy pass less often while trailing late in a game, but they shouldn't get a boost of ability in the last 5 minutes. -Add actual coaches. I want to see Craig MacTavish or Ron Wilson or Ken Hitchcock behind the bench, and I want to be able to hire and fire. All coaches should have strengths and weaknesses; Hitchcocks is obviously defence and positioning, MacT is good with veterans and a bit of players coach, Keenan ruins young prospects, etc etc. This should be applies to assistants as well. custom music for ps3 custom music for ps3 custom music for ps3 custom music for ps3 -TV contracts, building new stadiums, TOTAL FRANCHISE DEPTH! more

Resolved Question: I'm a server, do I have to pay for a customers bill if they walk out? And if the bill has alcohol and I'm 20?

I really hope that someone can help me. I work at sports bar, and it was during a really important hockey game, and we were really busy. All my tables were didn't need anything because they were just drinking and their drinks were full. I had one table that was extremely nice and I had no suspensions that they could walk out. I actually would approach the table numerous of times because I thought they were so nice. After a few drinks and shots, I asked them if they were ready for their tab and they said no because they were staying for the rest of the game, so I was not concerned with them leaving, and I knew that they were okay. I went into the kitchen to help some of the other servers with their tables. When I returned to my table, they were gone with full beers on the table! I have no idea what happened, or what made them leave. My manager made me pay for the bill that was $50. To clear things up- 1) I do not work at franchised restaurant, I work at a personal owned restaurant. 2) I have never signed any contract stating that I will pay for walk-outs 3) I have work for this business for 3 years and this was my first walk out ever So what I want to know is, is it illegal for a restaurant to make me pay for this bill? Also is it illegal for them to make me pay a bill that has alcohol on it if I am a minor? If anyone could help me out, that would be great! Also, please send me a legit website that could help as well. If it helps any I live in Michigan, United States. more

Resolved Question: what kind of decisions do the rockets need to make in the off season?

They were only a game away from going to the Western conference finals without T-mac, Or Yao. I say they Buyout T-mac's contract and let him go. I do like Mcgrady, but if your the franchise player, and your team plays better without you, thats a major problem.what if they could get rasheed walace, im pretty sure hes cheap now.they should keep yao, Yao proved that he can lead a team when hes healthy more

Resolved Question: I have a Redskins question?

They had one of the better ranked defenses last season. They also payed A.Haynesworth a $100 million contract. With a GLARING weekness at QB, why didn't they use that kind of money on a franchise QB?Thumbs up to all your answers(although i dissagree that he is a franchise QB.and they DO have receivers with more playmaking ability in Moss and RandleEl. They threw 'WAY'too much money at Haynesworth in my opinion and I saw a definite Backup QB in J.Campbell last season (NOT A STARTER) more

Resolved Question: MLB 09 the Show. contract extentions?

In MLB 09 the show, is it possible to extend a players contract during the season in franchise mode? I would like to sign some now before the end of the season, and I wondered if it was possible without releasing the player, then re-signing them. more

Resolved Question: Favre retiring un-retiring controversy justified?

Favre had been a long time Packer and produced great numbers. He was the franchise QB and started the most games ever. He even bumped out good QBs working their as back ups. His last season at Green Bay he got them to the championship NFC game where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl Champs - The New York Giants. It is known that afterwards, Favre had announced his retirement. Later he would sign with the Jets. After an all right season there he has retired again. Now there is controversy that he wants to play again. This time as an act of revenge against his former team, the Green Bay Packers. I believe that the Packers forced Favre to retire because Aaron Rodgers had one year left in his contract. Packers made it clear that if he didn't retire he would be benched which would ultimately ruin his legacy. Favre went on to retire, but wanted to play again. Looking to get revenge at the Packers there was speculation of him going to the Vikings. He ended up on the Jets. Now it is happening again. Are his actions justifiable. I think they are, but I dont think that he needs to be going for revenge as this will only make him look like a jerk. more

Resolved Question: Which MLB teams need to be contracted?

The league needs to be cut from 30 teams to 24 since many of them are just hemorrhaging money. Here are the teams that need to be gotten rid of: 1. Chicago Cubs- Haven't Won a World Series, only exist as a sob story, they are not a real baseball team, combined with bad luck and refusal to sign any decent players. Cubs fans have either died off or have joined the White Sox bandwagon led by Mayor Daley and President Obama. 2. Detroit Tigers- Detroit is such a bad place to be in right now they don't deserve a team. 3. Oakland Athletics- There should only be 1 team in the San Francisco Bay Area. 4. Colorado Rockies- Other than 2007, this franchise has done absolutely nothing. 5. Washington Nationals- Washington baseball fans have waited for years for a baseball team to return to the USA Capital, unfortunately they are still waiting because the Nationals are not a baseball team. 6. Cleveland Indians- Cleveland, same as Detroit, this town has gotten so bad that nobody wants to go there. Why keep a team in a city where there is a high unemployment rate. more

Voting Question: legal contract franchise question?

I purchased a franchise in January of 2007 and the franchisor is now threatening to terminate my franchise agreement based on failing to hit 'required' minimum revenue standards. However, there is nothing documenting these standards anywhere in the franchise agreement and absolutely nothing that says failing to this these ficticious numbers will result in a termination of contract. These 'required' minimum revenue numbers were never once mentioned by ANYONE until a training class that we attended in January 0f 2009. Do I have a case here? Please advise... Thank you more

Resolved Question: Where will Chris Bosh go after 2009-2010?

As, it stands as of now the teams in the running for CB4 are: New York Knicks - Have the most $ to spend, since only 1 of their players is not an expiring contract (Jeffries). They are the biggest franchise and the franchise that generates the most net worth and they have a lot of young talented players that can compliment him and another big 2010 FA name. Chicago Bulls - Have talent made a smart move in getting Salmons in addition w. Brad Miller, so if they lose Ben Gordon and some other players they will have the cap space to bring CB4 and unite him w. D.Rose in another large market. Detroit Pistons - The A.I.-Billups trade essentially sets them up for after next season. They need a low post offensive threat and it is either CB4 or Amar'e. Dallas - Dallas has been looking for a low post threat for years now and it is a fairly big market and CB4 was born there, so it makes sense. more

Resolved Question: Help interpreting "non-compete employment contract". Are my employment rights being infringed on?

I started working for ABC company as a gymnastic instructor in march of 2009. A week ago, 8 weeks after I was hired I was handed a "Confidentiality and Non-disclosure Agreement and Covenant not to Compete" agreement to sign. Part of this agreement states that I can not work as a gymnastic instructor within a 20 Mile radius of any ABC franchise location for 1 year after I am terminated or leave. I am living in a major city in Quebec. It would be impossible for me to find a job as a gymnastics instructor anywhere in the city that was not within 20 miles of a franchise location. Is this enforcable? Is it breaking any of my rights as a Quebec citizen/Canadian citizen? I cant sign it in good faith otherwise! They want me to contractually forfeit working in my area of expertise AFTER I stop working for them. Here is what section 7 of the contract in question states: The undersigned will not directly or indirectly engage in, have a financial interest in, or be associated in any manner with the offering of any developmental gymnastics programs for children using programs, systems, or techniques similar to the programs and techniques used by ABC, Inc. or its franchisees: (a) within a 20-mile radius of any franchise location or franchiser's company-owned stores (b) during the period of the undersigned's association with ABC, Inc. and/ or its franchisees and for one (1) year after expiration or termination thereof. more

Resolved Question: If Allen Iverson & Tracy McGrady were on the same team together. Do you see it working out?

Iverson and McGrady both had a terrible season this year. Both didn't play at the all star level that they are expected to play at. Even though Allen Iverson did make the all star team this year he didn't deserve it. He only got voted to the All Star game because the fans get to decide who starts in the all star starting line -up. Personally, I Still to this day, don't know why nobody has selected Mike Bibby to play in any all star game. He's been in the league for 11 years, turned around two losing franchises,(Sacramento Kings & Atlanta Hawks) and not one frickin all star selection. I think he should at least be selected to a least one all star game before he retires. Anyway back to the question.Allen Iverson is a free agent this season and most likely not returning to the Pistons. Tracy McGrady is injured for the entire season and since the Rockets finally got past the 2nd for the first time in nearly 12 years and they did it without T-Mac who still hasn't gotten past the 2nd round yet in his career is most likely to either be traded on bought out of his contract. Both are known to box office players meaning both players fill the seats in arenas because of their exciting style of basketball play. Both are known to bring high expectations to good teams that are on the verge of winning a championship (example: Iverson - Denver and Detroit, McGrady - Houston) assuming that they'll win a championship with either player because both players were brought to good teams with very good players on the teams both players were on. But, Fail to live up to those expectations. So far Allen Iverson being traded to Detroit has made the Nuggets much, much, better and Detroit far, far worse. McGrady, on the other hand, being out for the entire season, made the rockets a much, much better team without him. For the first time in 12 years, they made it out the first round. They also have a 1 - 0 series lead against the best team in the west, the lakers. If Somehow, they both end up playing together next year. What do you think the outcome will be? more

Resolved Question: 2009 nfl season predictions?

These are my predictions. write what u think AFC East 1-New England Patriots(do i have to say why?) 2-Miami Dolphins(this team is young and on the rise) 3-New York Jets(they do have sanchez but this team is built for the future) 4-Buffalo Bills-(i had this team in 2nd place before the draft but things happen) AFC NORTH 1-Pittsburg Steelers- (this team has done a great job maintaing most of its key starters and ziggy hood will make an impact on the defensive line) 2- Baltimore Ravens- (Flacco is rising but the browns and begals are also rising so don't be suprised if the ravens fall in 2009) 3-Cleveland Browns- (had one of the best drafts in the league with players expected to contribute this year and that helps) 4- Cincinati Bengals-(this team is sort of rebuilding and that pretty much guarantees a losing record) AFC South 1-Tennessee Titans-(the most complete team in the nfl with a consitent coaching staff and a great draft which filled all of its' needs. losing haynesworth doesn't f@c%in matter and anyone who says it does is retarded and knows nothing about football!!losing one player who acts like an overweight 6 year old doesn't make a difference) 2-Indianapolis Colts-(a very consistent franchise but is behind the titans) 3-Houston Texans-(a team on the rise? could very well pull off an upset this year. just stay healthy shaub) 4-Jacksonville Jaguars-(there is really no leadership on this team and there are holes on this roster especially at the WR position) AFC WEST 1-San Diego Chargers-(a very scary defense that can match the steelers' and an explosive offense) 2-Oakland Raiders-(feel free to critize me on this, but the situation is better than the chiefs and broncos and i see that this team has rising talent everywhere) 3-Denver Broncos-(losing jay cutler just hurts a little and adapting to mcdaniel's system is unpredictable. they also did little to improve the INTERIOR of their defense) 4-Kansas City Chiefs-(i have never seen a rebuilding stage and transition this massive before. they have raw talent everywhere, but expect their long term future to be dominant) NFC EAST 1-New York Giants-(A deep defense, a great quarterback, a great offensive line, and new blood at WR. This is a super bowl puzzle) 2-Philadelphia Eagles-(no doubt that their built to win now, but the giants are more complete than them, but firepower nearly everywhere) 3-Dallas Cowboys-(no leadership hurts but the redskins have the same problem and the cowboys have the edge in coaching and talent) 4-Washington Redskins-(read above plus you can't BUY CHAMPIONSHIPS like the yankees and because of that the redskins have no second string at all) NFC NORTH 1-Minnesota Vikings-(rather than QB, this team has everything u look for in a franchise talent wise) 2- Chicago Bears-(give jay cutler just one year to get used to the low talent on offense that chicago has to offer excluding matt forte and greg olsen) 3-Green Bay Packers-(every team needs at least a year to develop into the 3-4) 4-Detroit Lions-( i see that millen still has his influence so have fun losing lion fans. how can you come out of the draft with no talented defensive lineman, no left tackle, and no middle linebacker?!?!?) NFC South 1-Carolina Panthers-(this team is so deep that its sick, but delhomme is on the downside of his career, but give the panthers a chance THIS YEAR) 2-New Orlens Saints-(probably the best offense in the nfl and this teams defense just got better in the off season) 3-Atlants Falcons-(could very well win the division this year, but this division is very unpredictable) 4-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(going from a west coast guru and a tampa 2 guru to a 32 year old DB coach is a veeery big jump. other than the chiefs and broncos, this team is in big transition) NFC WEST 1-Seattle Seahawks-(by the end of the season this team will either be in the playoffs or be looking into a painful rebuilding project. this team is old, their firepower is very limited, and they're built to win now!) 2-Arizona Cardinals-(super bowl hangover and they're many key players unhappy with their contracts which spells trouble) 3-San Francisco 49ers-(i really don't know what to put down, can someone help me? lol) 4-St. Louis Rams-(many of the starters are young and raw which spells trouble for the short term future) my 4 superbowl favorites(not in order) are the new york giants, tennessee titans, san diego chargers, ansd minnesota vikings. even though i am a die hard giants fan, i am being fair and i know alot about the nfl. please give your opinions and remember losing one player doesn't mean a F'N thing!!!!! also read my comments for every team.yeah crazy eh, i saw what happened when the titans didn't have albert haynesworth or vanden bosch, they beat the superbowl champion pittsburg steelers. that is what happened!!! haynesworth affected them in 2007 not 2008. washburn knows how to develop players quickly. plus losing him doesn't matter if you have talent anywhere, just look it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Resolved Question: Will Merriman be a Charger in 2010?

his contract expires next year, and i assumed they would resign him. but then they drafted Larry English, who also plays OLB. i really dont know what they have planned for him, maybe they would switch him to DE to replace Igor Olshanksy, or he would be a backup for merriman. but it doesnt make sense to draft a player in the first round to just be a backup. so maybe the Chargers franchise have him planned to be a replacement for when merrimans contract runs out? i really hope this isnt true, your thoughts? more

Resolved Question: Michael Vick has been offered a minor league football contract. Would u go and see Vick play football?

Football Team Offers Vick Contract Posted Apr 28, 2009 7:04 PMPrint Text Size A AAALBANY, N.Y. Resolved Question: If you were Chris Paul would you opt out of your contract as soon as you had the chance?

The players they have around Chris Paul or either inconsistent or just flat out suck! I think it is a shame that they put all that burden on CP3 who unlike Iverson is willing to make people around him better. It looks like the franchise is just trying to save money and if things go bad again next year they will just blame and fire the coach. Resolved Question: Thank you Chicago Bulls?

For, giving my Knicks Chris Duhon. He is the perfect fit for this system and has an all-around game and is one of the only defenders we have. We do need to get him help @ point though cause all those minutes took a toll on him down the stretch of the season and Nate Robinson is a moron in it's most simplest terms. Unlike, CD he is a terrible defender and he does not know how to orchestrate an offense, which is bad for a player of his stature being that hemakes too many mental mistakes to be a PG and is too short to be a SG. His inability to make smart and crisp plays and make boneheaded ones instead during the most crutial of times because he likes to force the action shows the lack of basketball IQin his game and the fact that he shoots at a low % taking 18 + attempts a game does not help his case. While, Hughes is a serviceable combo guard for nowhe is also inconsistent and his contract will not be in NY passed it's expiration cause of the 2010 FA aspirations, so CD needs help, but thanks again Chicago he is a blessing in disguise. I know you let him go cause he was an off-court menace partying up a lot and it freed up space for Rose todo his think, which he has done by the way quite impressive. However, the main reason you made that move was to keep Thabo Sefolosha cause he seemed to be a good player he was, but you let him go regardless - which makes letting go CD foolish after the year he had where he played D.Rose great this year mano 2 mano. Getting rid of Hughes was alright for both of us he is serviceable for now and his contract will do us wonders. While Thomas's contractcan help you out and it may keep Hinrich w.Rose. Hinrich is a great player who has posted D.Rose #'s for most of his career except for last year's poor showing and this year being regulated to the bench. If it was me I would let free agent Gordon walk this summer cause yes he is clutch and can score, but can not create his own offense and works under great passers, like Rose and Hinrich for most of his career. He reminds me of Nate in that he is a poor FG shooter shooting just above 40% for his career and is 1 dimensional. Salmons is much better and w. Rose gone Deng and Salmons can be inserted together w.Hinrich at SG he can give offense, passing ability, and tough d. To me Hinrich is the 2nd best PG in the NBA after Billups on the defensive end. PG. ROSE SG. HINRICH SF. SALMONS PF. DENG C. TYRUS THOMAS Also, what gives w.Knicks-Bulls franchise and trades over the years. You have killed us w. trades overthe years. 1999: Knicks failed to takeopportunity to draftRon Artest and then the next pick in the draft after NY, Chicago takes him and we are stuck w. Frederic Weis We exchanged the services of rugged, physical, and talented big Charles Oakley for years. You gave us the fat contract in equally fat merely offense no rebounding, d,and lack passion big in Eddy Curry for Antonio Davis, Tim Thomas, and Michael Sweetney.Putting us in salary cap woes. And finally now you decide to help us and give us CD and Hughes(for now). more

Resolved Question: What does this petition mean?

Before you read, I would like someone to break this down to me clearly, because the man that sent me this is an extremely important person to me who I care about very dearly, he is my mentor. Is it basically saying that the people that sue for little things like having tree limbs over the neighbors yard and want to sue for that or having a neighbors dog go pee in their yard and want the dog executed. Or something else?? Hi, Recently, I've been learning about a dangerous way for employers and companies to avoid being accountable to employees and consumers. I'm talking about forced arbitration - a practice which traps employees and consumers into waiving their rights to sue, participate in a class-action lawsuit, or to appeal an unfair resolution to a conflict. forced arbitration clauses are buried into the fine print of contracts and terms of agreements for employment, insurance, home-building, car loans and leases, credit cards, nursing facilities, and more - clauses that people like you and I are agreeing to every day! Thankfully, there is already legislation moving through Congress to put an end to forced arbitration. The Arbitration Fairness Act would disallow employers and companies from using forced arbitration in civil rights, employment, consumer, or franchise disputes. Join me in asking members of Congress to support the Arbitration Fairness Act, which will end the practice of forcing employees and consumers to sign away their rights to legal protections and access to courts. Sign the petition today: http://action.citizen.org/t/9119/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=1904 Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Is Josh Freeman a moron?

This big mouth punk let it slip that the Bucs signing Leftwich was just a "smokescreen" to get other teams to not trade up to draft Freeman. Apparently, Leftwich was also a moron by signing a contract with no signing bonus and a $2.5 millon a year salary, which he won't get if the Bucs release him tomorrow. What a pathetic way to run a franchise and what a messed up way to treat a vet like Leftwich. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/25/freeman-bucs-told-me-leftwich-was-a-smokescreen/ more

Resolved Question: What is the dumbest move Knicks (my team) did this decade ?

The time line: 1999 - Passed up NYC grown talent Ron Artest in the NBA Draft for Frederic Weis whom never played a game and is infamously known for being the 7"0 guy VC dunked over. 2000 - Unjustly traded Patrick Ewing, not only the franchise player and Captain, but the greatest Knick of all-time, first ballot Hall of Fame player, and 1 of the greatest Centers of all-time for an over-the-top Glen Rice and Vernon Maxwell and scrubs in Travis Knight, Luc Longley, and Vladamir Stepania. This is after 15 years of faithful service to our franchise where Ewing was indeed every bit The Warrior he was proclaimed to be. It is this trade that made the Knicks obsolete and we never had a winning season after 2001 cause of it. 2001 - Hiring Don Chaney as Van Gundy's replacement after he resigned. Chaney is by far the worst coach in NY Knicks history. 2002 - Traded Marcus Camby and draft pick Nene for a fallen All-star Antonio McDyess. Whose injury was thought to be career ending and only played 6 games in his 1 season in NY. 2003 - Traded Latrell Sprewell for Keith Van Horn, yuck. 2004 - Traded Antonio McDyess who turns out was not seriously injured at all and bounced back nicely when he went to Detroit. Along w/ Charlie Ward, and Howard Eisley for a injury ridden Penny Hardaway and the cancer known as Starbury that would plague the franchise 4 1/2 seasons. 2006: Jerome James was signed to a 5 year contract, Tim Thomas was traded for Eddy Curry a player with a known irregular heartbeat condition, traded Trevor Ariza for Steve "Cancer #2" Francis. 2007 - Isiah Thomas is hired as coach 2008 - Balkman is traded for scrubs in Taurean Green and Bobby Jones. Both of which did not make the playoff roster.Isiah Thomas is an abysmal coach, but I would prefer him any day over Don Chaney I stand w/ my original thought in that he is the worst Knicks coach in franchise history. more

Resolved Question: 2009 FA All-stars/ All-star calibers where will they go?

Here is my guess.... 2009: Steve Nash - NEW YORK KNICKS - Has the luxury to opt out of his contract as stated by his contract w. Phoenix before it officially expires in 2010. Seeing all the negative changes done by the franchise I see it as foolish if he doesn't leave. The question remains will he leave this year off season or next? Mike Bibby - Stays in the A.T.L has a good thing going for him. Raymond Felton - Stays in Charlotte will have a good thing going for him, Allen Iverson - CHARLOTTE BOBCATS - Reunited w/ Coach Brown he will have the ability to play as himself rather than conforming to a lost cause system he would never fit under. Ben Gordon - NEW ORLEANS HORNETS - I see them throwing $ his way they need a more consistent scorer on the wing/perimeter. Zydrunas Ilguaskas - I can see him staying finishing his career off in Cleveland. Jason Kidd - Stays he started his career there and welcomed a trade to end it there. Rasheed Wallace - PORTLAND BLAZERS - I think he will be brought back because they need a vet who has seen his fair share of playoff big games to improve their young team. Jamal Crawford - Stays they made an investment in him Ron Artest - Stays Houston's progress over the last year shows Kobe Bryant - Stays Lamar Odom - Stays Jermaine O'Neal - Stays Ramon Sessions - Stays if they know whats good for them David Lee - Stays if we know whats good for us Al Harrington - Stays Nate Robinson - PORTLAND BLAZERS - I see him being reunited w/ college teammate Brandon Roy to help out Blake. Hedo Turkoglu - Stays Andre Miller - W/ all the trade talks and buyouts his name has welcomed I think it will be stupid on Philly's part to lose him, he stays. Drew Gooden - Stays and starts next season Shawn Marion - Stays Paul Millsap - Stays and made into the PF of the future Carlos Boozer - DETROIT PISTONS - C.Booz is young at 27 just needs to not get injured. Pistons are in desperate need of a low-post threat. Mehmet Okur - StaysRon D look at my other question I think he will stay cause no one wants that contract and he still has the versatility to prove doubters wrong if he can somehow stay healthy.K I will hopefully they pan out.Why would Hedo go back to the Kings if they did not believe in him enough to resign him or Gerald Wallace?god AI and Brown rectified their issues, the youth of Portland is their main problem they need vet leadership, and the rest are all validated. more

Resolved Question: If Deke's Injury to a 42 yr old frame is not career jeopardizing?

And he still has some left in the tank to play 1 more year. Do you think the Atlanta Hawks should sign him on a 1 year contract. Out of respect to #55 and what he has given the franchise. He is in great shape at 42 if he is still able to defend, block, and pull a few rebounds over players twice his age. I mean his offensive game has fallen off considerably due to age, but he can do the other intangibles and aide Horford and Pachulia off the bench. He can also serve as a vet leader to a young team and can progress Big Al's progress. I mean Deke deserves it and it would be nice to see the Hawks do that for him being he gave Atlanta some of the best years of his career and is an all-time Hawks great for sure in his prime years.Dikembe Mutombo was a Knick for a year and a half.Larry Hughes is 10x the player Nate will ever be. Despite, being overpaid and inconsistent his overpaid and inconsistent self actually plays defense in addition to possessing a offensive game as inconsistent as it might be. He can also be inserted at the PG spot. Nate Robinson does not play a lick of defense and is inconsistent and does a horrible job running the floor as a PG.... I sadly have to agree w/ you, but I am still optimistic the 90's Knicks can resurge not as a defensive powerhouse cause those days are sadly gone, but as an offensive one under Mike D and a well off defense that won't give up 107 I would settle w/ 98-100.Thing w. Al Harrington is when he first came into the NBA as a member of the Pacers and Hawks he was used primarily as a defensive stopper. He had a sound defensive game that was tampered with when he went to GS and NY. The run n gun tempo has made him lazy on the defensive end rather than letting him go I think if we surround him w/ defenders in Gay, Camby, Duhon (stays), Wilcox (stays), Gallinari (could develop into a fine defensive player), and Jeffries (has to stay cause no one will touch his bloated contract and he can not be let go cause his contract expires in 11') Al's defense could return a bit. more

Resolved Question: Come 2010-2011 Knicks will own (agreed)?

Knicks are the largest market in the NBA and have hit a playoff rough patch since the last time NY saw the playoffs in 2005. The last time NY saw a winning season was even longer, 2001. However, this was mostly because of an incompetent front office and bad roster decisions that made NY over the cap. NY addressed this by getting rid of Isiah Thomas who continued Scott Layden's path of destruction in his half a decade reign. Thomas was replaced w/ Walsh and D'Antoni and finally NY has a duo that can created progress this year that will carry over to once again NY becoming contenders. They are still the franchise w/ the most net worth. Walsh has ridden us of Marbury (cancer), and Z.Bo and J.Craw (fat contracts) and put us finally under the cap w. a lot of $ to spend for the 2010 FA class. While, D'Antoni has made NY into an offensive juggernaut and increased the win total his first season by 9 games. This has further contributed to an influx of interest from All-star Free Agents and by 2010-2011 these will be the Knicks. PG. STEVE NASH - FA 09' SG. MICHAEL REDD - FA 10' SF. RUDY GAY - FA 10' PF. DAVID LEE - Beast C. CHRIS BOSH - FA 10' 6. Al Harrington 7. Wilson Chandler 8. Chris Duhon - Very good player can not withstand 38 mpg though 9. Danilo Gallinari - Has the toolkit towards becoming a all-around package. 10. Marcus Camby - FA 09' His return to NY will give NY blocks, defense, and an all-around game from a center that has been missing since Ewing and Camby's departure. 11. Chris Wilcox 12. Jared Jeffries COACH: MIKE D'ANTONIBron is unfortunately staying w. Cleveland, but look at it this way in 2 years. Pierce will be 32, Garnett 34, and Allen 35. They will be aging and who knows if the Pistons will remain respectable. It is wide open for the Knicks, Pacers, and Cats. Also, MC they had a chance to make it, but disappeared down the stretch. Never question my judgment I am the greatest basketball mind on YA.Nate Robinson pisses me off and no way Knicks can make offers to the players if they keep Lee and Nate. Lee is the keeper and Nate is a headcase w/ a poor sense of basketball IQ. Yes, those 5 and here's how it is possible. Marbury - out, frees cap space Curry - lard is out after next year, frees cap space Hughes - out after next year Robinson - frees cap space Crawford/Randolph - fat contracts out, frees cap Duhon, Chandler, Gallinari = cheap players to extend also very good players. Harrington - Looking to play for a contract and he will be 30 so he will look for a vet minimum to remain a Knick. Nash - Must be devastated w. Phx's issues and would want to rejoin his style of play w. Mike - vet minimum. Camby - Has always been loved in NY and Knicks can get him off vet minimum or trade picks for him. Clippers have a logjam w/ Kaman and Randolph and Camby. Redd, Bosh = 2 FA for the price of 1 in 2010 Gay = Makes very little and Memphis is nearly bankrupt may move franchiseJared Jeffries makes more than him and the Knicks and a larger market may pull him to NY. The only Knick w/ a contract that expires after 2010 is Jared Jeffries. more

Resolved Question: the yankees should've signed dunn, lowe, manny instead of tex and sabathia?

i always thought dunn is a more of an impact hitter than texeira. both are very patient, but dunn has more power. texeira is a better first baseman, but dunn can play the outfield. (a better version of swisher) dunn can be had for a lot less money and a lot less year commitment than tex. same with lowe and manny (plus they can stick it to the sox since both used to play for boston and LA). i thought they should've trade for peavy instead of signing burnett. maybe you think they are too old, but some guys fade away young (like zito) and these guys have stand the test of time. by the time, their relatively short contracts expire. other top-end free agents would be available. its not like texeira and sabathia are once-in-a-lifetime can't-miss franchise player like a-roid, pujols, clemens, barry bonds, and manny. more

Resolved Question: Why does King (I Am Alpha Wolf) Throw the 55?

In my face it was 1 game and yes Wade has gotten the better of the Knicks twice this season out of 3. It is about damn time. The Knicks have still won 8 out of the last 15 games and last 2 years before this year Knicks swept the Heat. Finally, D.Wade puts up his double nickel after Jamal Crawford dropped 53 on him as a Knick. What was it 16 consecutive shots w/o a miss, shot 8/9 from 3, and had 5 assists that game. Also why the fuck is he gloating if the Knicks own the entire Miami Heat franchise how many times have the Knicks ousted Miami from the playoffs. And outside from 1 legit year when they beat us and the other year where all the Knicks players were suspended from a fight Miami started. How many times have they taken NY from the playoffs? I mean oh wow they made the playoffs this year and we didn't, so the Knicks are in good position to bring back respectibility. They overachieved this year, have a lot of expiring contracts, and a lot of All-star FA prospects to look at, so why does he continue to ride Wade's jock? One 55 point game does not change the fact that the Knicks have burned him the last couple of years. I never dissed Wade he is a great player, but not even close to the best. He still not even the best player of his franchise that would be Zo. more

Resolved Question: Hey IPL fans pay attention...Especially KKR fans..Listen?

Well U might already know that today it was finally announced that Sourav Ganguli wont be the captain of KKR...atleast 4 the initial matches... McCullam will replace him...Well I'm not telling that McCullam isn't worthy of it..Just telling that the things happening to not only Dada but all the icon players of the franchises, who r seniors...really disgusting.. I as a KKR and Dada fan really feeling humiliated... I mean if the franchise owners and authorities were planning something like this... then what was the motive of selecting seniors in the first place and even selecting some of them as icon players?? This is really insane....Previously I really had a completely different view on IPL...I thought it was not just about loss and profit....But now I think I was wrong big time....after all this I am not sure whether to watch this money premier league or not..DO U AGREE?? And it also comes to hear that although the 4 captaincy theory in one single match has been withdrawn... but there will be 4 captains...each 4 some individual matches...Like McCullam 4 the start-up matches.. Well was there any need of this crap?? but anyway....as a Dada fan I think what Dada should do immediately is resign from KKR... if he really cares about his fans and his own self-respect... Although I don't know whether it can be done so easily as all the icon players have 3year contracts with the franchises...But if it's possible.. then he should immediately do it... Bcoz I think as last year IPL was held in India...they needed Dada just 4 filling up the Eden Gardens stadium with his huge kolkatan fan following....that was the only utility of dada in their view I think....and now that IPL is shifted to SA....they don't feel the need for him now.....really is this some kind of joke??? I am really sick of it....WHAT'S UR TAKE ON THIS??Well...Vicky K...U may be right....bt who has given them the right to insult the senior Indian players??...They should at least show them the proper respect they deserve....Well Hooglee I agree with u in some parts....bt still it's really disgusting...and SRK told b4 that Dada will be the captain no matter what happens...But now we can easily understand that he has chosen to walk buchanan's way.. If he really respected dada's views....he should hv consulted Dada... And dada will prove himself if he get the chance..but now that he's not the captain..there's no assurance that buchanan wont end up having him to sit back and watch the game....Captaincy toh dur ki baat hain....And after all these....I think being an Icon player of a franchise isn't quite a big thing.... But yeah if U r an outsider...then it's really a big thing... more

Resolved Question: Hey Laker fans how does it feel?

That your franchise's greatest player of all-time whom NBA analysts claim him to be the the most versatile and overall skilled player along with Big O in NBA history in Magic Johnson. Is a poor excuse for a human being and a poor role model for children and all fans who look up to him? Magic Johnson is a pig who lived a life of good for nothingness may have been a great basketball player, but failed and still fails as a person. He probably cheated on his wife with a cheap hooker or even a man I would not be surprised and he contracted the AIDS virus because of his own doing. Is this the man that your franchise is proud to call the best Laker of all-time if it is then you Laker fans have low-class tendencies. more

Voting Question: Do you think there will be another MLB strike in the next few years?

The fact that the MLB is the only major sport that still does not have salary cap rules and limitations is horrible. That is the reason we are seeing places like Yankee Stadium and Fenway park sold out and smaller market teams can barely fill half of the seats. It becomes less of a competition when a few teams with rich owners go out and buy any player they want on their team without having any kind of regulations on how much they can spend or how long of a contract they can offer. Imagine if the New York Knicks were able to spend enough to get LeBron James, Duane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Chris Bosh, etc.... That would completely destroy the whole NBA because many other franchises would be doomed if only one team had a chance of winning a championship. Luckily baseball is more of a team sport than basketball. However, I don't know about you but I'm getting kind of tired of seeing the Red Sox, Yankees, and Angels in the playoffs every single year along with whoever is lucky enough to win the AL Central. There was almost a strike in 2003 because of all the money going to the Yankees players. If it takes away support from other clubs it could cause a strike. I know the Yankees haven't won a world series since 2000, but they are in the playoffs every year, with the exception of last year. We get different champions because baseball is that much of a team sport, and relies on the farm system also. That would explain why the Marlins have won the WS twice in their short existance, but have they been able to keep any of the star players that helped them earn their trophies? Josh Beckett Miguel Cabrera Edgar Renteria all signed with big market teams (or high payroll teams) more

Voting Question: Some ideas on developing a business plan for a franchise, please?

Tell me what you would say about those questions below and anything you can understand, please. Do it as you own business plan and they you can provide the web links too. Thanks When writing a business plan for a franchise, information about the franchisor is critical in obtaining financing. The franchisor is the key to the operation. Its success or failure will ultimately be the franchisee’s success or failure. The questions listed in the franchise opportunity handbook must be answered. These questions include how many years the franchisor has been in operation, the types of assistance the franchisor provides to the franchisee (training, site selection, financing, etc.), what the franchisor provides for you that you cannot do on your own, how many other franchises the corporation has and where they are located. All franchise costs must also be itemized to show the initial franchise fee, the monthly royalty fee, and advertising fees. Finally, financial institutions and investors will usually want to see a copy of the offering circular and a sample franchise contract. The business plan will require the entrepreneur to answer: How long has this franchise been in business? How many outlets does it have operating? Do you have financial statements for the franchisor for the last three years? Do you have an offering circular? Do you have a sample franchise contract? Did you consider other franchises? Why did you pick this franchise over others? What services does the franchisor provide to franchisees? What are the costs involved? more
